Hard Drive Crash Recovery by SalvageData
UK |
 |
A vast majority of computer owners never think about
their hard drives. In fact, most people take this valuable computer
component for granted. Restarting the operating systems on occasion
whenever a program gets hung up doesn’t cure the underlying problem.
Nonetheless, the hard drive is overlooked and we assume it will be fine
until we upgrade our system. While it's true that the typical hard drive
will last for years, this component along with the DVD/CD and floppy disk
drive are devices with moving parts. Therefore, it’s foreseeable that it
will wear out eventually. It’s just a matter of when it will occur.
The most recent and critical information is stored on the hard drive,
making it far more damaging than that of a floppy drive or DVD failure.

Avoid a Hard Drive Crash by Catching the
Warning Signs |
 |
Sometimes a hard drive may experience failure or sudden crash without
any warning, but many times there are warning signs that will let you know
when to take action. Changes in performance, intermittent failures, or
unexpected blue screens are major signs that the hard drive may be dying
out permanently. The most obvious warning sign with a hard drive is
unusual clicking, grinding, or scraping noises. Immediately shut your
system down if you hear any of those sounds. Such noises point to a drive
with failed components. All data could be lost if the system remains
powered under such conditions.

The Only Guaranteed Protection is to
Backup Your Files |
 |
The only real guarantee for protecting your data is putting in place
and maintaining a reliable backup system. Although the majority of lost
data can often be recovered after such a disk drive crash, it’s not always
possible. A backup plan is like an insurance policy. No one would buy an
insurance policy without carefully understanding its coverage and
provisions. Similarly, you should not rely on a backup system that hasn't
been well thought out and tested. It's not a question of if you will have
a hard drive crash; it's a question of when. To go one more day without a
tested Data Recovery Plan is like playing Russian Roulette with the data
on your hard drive!

WARNING / PLEASE NOTE:
|
 |
|
You should never open the cover of a failed hard disk drive in attempt to repair, salvage or recover data. Today’s hard disk drives tolerances are very tight and the materials used inside are so technologically advanced that even the smallest speck of dust, contaminants or even gaseous can disrupt the delicate balance of the drives ecosystem. Any such disruption not only destroys the drive but all the data contained on it.
Data is written on the drives by one or more read/write heads that are designed to manipulate magnetic particles on the disk surface. This read/write activity happens with the read/write heads literally flying one two-thousands the width of human hair above the platters at speeds of anywhere from 4,000 to 15,000 RPM. Our data salvaging and recovery process is conducted in a world-class 100 cleanroom environment by a world-class group of mechanical, electrical hard drive engineers using carefully researched tools and materials to safely recover and ensure the best possibility of success..
